KW coilover users (any Americans?)

According to Michael Grassl, of KW in Germany,
"First of all, the rates for our V3 kit are 342 lbs/in (60N/mm) front and 285 lbs/in (50 N/mm) rear."
And he stated that the v3 as sold is designed to be run with torsion bars in place.
I'm going to run them with the M030 tb as well.

he responded quickly. iirc, he also mentioned that you can get custom stiffer springs for the v3, but the valving does not permit a really high rate of the sort you would need to delete the tb.

It sounds like the rear KW couldn't handle a 500lb spring, sans TB?

Again I would defer to Michael Grassl. If you can deal directly with him which is what I wound up doing, then you will get all the answers you need. I think in the Variant form, the valving on the shocks is not designed to work with rates like 500lb/in. If you go for a custom set, then no problem at all. I was going to get a V3 system, but one thing and another led me to the 2-way race setup and my rates are 616lb/in and 708lb/in effective coilover rate. Coupled with solid bushings/bearings, adj camber plates, and R-spec tyres mean it should be undriveable on the road. It's not, it's better than previous Mo30 as far as compliancy goes, offering a great deal more traction too.

Actually, Anders and Patrick are not using "V2", they're using Competition 2-ways. These are a step above the V3's. There also are Competition 3-ways, but they cost something like $7k. The competition 2-ways are a completely custom setup based on driver experience, preference, types of tracks you'll be driving on, etc.

I run the KW V3 with TB on one of my cabs, I knew I was buying them before I bought the car. They work very well on the street and eat up bumps. I won't have the car on the track before October so i can't say how they do there yet.
Here's a link to Vaino's writeup http://www.**********/upgrades.htm
He also bought his from autoanywhere.

"Eat up the bumps is right". This translates into traction and that translates into time. Do the math and then just buy them is my advice!

Mark- That sounds hard to beat! Thanks.
Patrick- Thanks for the links! Michael Grassl echoed your sentiments exactly. He said to go TB-less you'd want at least 100N rear rates. It's odd that there are quite a few 968's in the US with the KW's, but not so much 951's.
I want them....even though they're purple

Everyone I know with KW suspension (various makes of cars totals about 25 people) has loved them for track/street usage.
If you are going for the race version - one of our forum sponsors sells them but the name slips my mind.
