Default motor mount - replace or re-use??? (w/ pics)

Hey all, I need advice on whether or not to replace this motor mount. It's from the passenger side, where my rack leaked P/S fluid everywhere. As you can tell, the fluid has already started to deteriorate the rubber on the top side of the mount...but I think it's mostly cosmetic. Structurally, the mount is still solid...it's plenty stiff and not leaking any goo from the inside out. Based on records from the P/O, both mounts have about 30k on them. The driver's side mount looks perfect... TIA for your comments/advice.

I'd replace it as long as it is out of the car. They don't last long, and 30k miles may be near the life expectancy anyways. I guess you could measure the height as well.

Ahhh, yes...height measurement! I knew there was a formal method for evaluating motor mounts. Anybody know the minimum height specs? Thanks.

IIRC Porsche changed their motor mounts b/c the originals sucked so bad. If these are OEM replacements I'd probably reuse them (they're over $100 I believe). If not OEM, pitch'em and suck up the price for a new one.

There are different oem and aftermarket mounts out there and they have different heights.. Even with two similar mounts I measured over 2mm difference in height.

Both are Oem replacement mounts , part number: 951 375 042 04
One of them was 2,5mm higher than the other.
Total height was 74-76mm IIRC..

Old Vs new mounts

Old mount was 17mm shorter than the new btw ..

From your pic the mount has a '92' build date. To me that is much too long for any 944 mount to be in a hot engine compartment no matter what the mileage. Age, weathering, and heat puts the biggest strain on rubber parts under heavy loads like our cars. IMO I would change them out and have the peace of mind knowing you won't have to do it again for awhile.
