Ok I have been searching and looking at pics and I am creeping toward the conclusion that the turbo charger in my car is NOT a K27/6.
You see the P.O. said that the original K26/8 lost the nut on the compressor side and foded itself out. So he had replaced it with a k27/6 and an Autothority MAF. Now I have never been able to get more than about 270 hp out of this thing and in eyeballing it to get an idea of how hard it is to change out I am suddenly wondering if the P.O. either knowingly or unknowingly stuck a stock turbo back in this thing...
So if anybody has a couple of quick pics of the K27/6 could ya post em up?

http://www.imagineauto.com/turbos.htm
The inlet is bigger than the stock J-boot on the K27, so that is a clue. However there are some converted 'cheater' turbos that use a larger wheel in a hogged-out K26 housing that would look stock for the most part.

Does it mean that I have a K27/8? if on the Jboot opening its 2.75" and the hotside is 2" the inside is stamped with a number 8 and across a number 2?I also bought a remanufactured powerhaus turbo and I was told its a K27/8

The one on the left in Marcoturbo's picture is what mine looks like (no metal plate either), and mine is a powerhaus 27/6. Or at least I think Roger/Andial951 said it was from powerhaus when I bought it...

The turbo on the left is the one I was sold on ebay as a Powerhaus K27/8. After checking the exhaust side, it's a K27/6.
