Default Problem with my new ignition wires

So I bought a set of Clewett Engineering ignition wires after numerous recommendations on here but I'm having problems with them. I installed the wires correctly but when the car runs for a little the #1 wire arcs with the metal intercooler tube. This causes the car to run like crap, almost like its running on 3 cylinders. I have put these wires on and then put the stock ones back on and the car ran perfect so its looks like it has something to do with the new wires. What would cause this problem?

Call Richard at Clewett and tell him the problem. Maybe he sent out a bad wire.
