Anyone have any ideas as to how much a long block weighs? Would a 2.5L weigh more or less than a 3.0L? Is there a listing of individual components to do some calculations?

a 3 liter weighs more than a 2.5 liter.

a 2.5 liter 8 valve long block is @175 pounds
a 3.0 liter 16 valve long block is @225 pounds

Thanks, that's just the info I need. So that's just over 100kgs for the 3.0L.

I guess you dont need it for shipping purposes but I just shipped a long block out of an 86 951 @ 430 lbs after being fulled packaged and strapped to a pallet. So if any one happens to see this post looking for an estimated weight for shipping purposes.. there you go.

That's a correct weight with a long block with turbo, alt, ps pump, ac compressor , headers it's 400lbs+
