Has any one created any, home brewed air scoop and ducting that directs air through the hole on the drivers side fender well? The hole where the original air intake draws air from?
I have seen examples of people placing the airfilter in the fender well but I am hesitant to do it for fear of ingesting water.
I remember reading a post where temp measurements had been taken and found almost a 60 degree difference in temperature from the wheel well to the engine compartment?
So my thought is, fit some kind of scoop and duct to move air from under the car into the area where most cone filters now live.

Is this for your intake or just to get airflow into the engine bay?
If it is for your intake, I would just move the filter to inside the fender.
I doubt there is sufficient airflow velocity inside the fender to be able to funnel any amount of air into the engine bay from the fender by just placing a scoop. You could obviously use the hole to run ducting from the front of the bumper.

The idea is to blow cooler air onto the air filter. My theroy is that some kind of airscoop and duct would move air into the area around the filter.
So My question is has anyone tried this?
