I have a 26/6 and hold 15psi solid with the Tial 38 and black **** throughout the rpm band.

My 26/8 does use a lot of oil on boost, even though it only has 33k miles. If nothing else, it will be interesting to see a direct dyno comparison between a 26/8 and a 27/6 at maybe 15,16, and 17 PSI with no other changes. That's assuming a new WG fixes the 15 PSI max/unsteady boost problem. It sure seems like I would be able to see the fluctuation in my Autometer boost gauge, but maybe I just haven't noticed. Worst case I can put the 26/8 back if I don't like the 27/6 better. From what I've seen in other threads though, the 27/6 should give me more HP/TQ at the same boost pressure, and hopefully a little faster spool up.

How did you figure that the turbo is whats using the oil? My oil is going somewhere, but I dont know if its the motor or the turbo thats using it.

I could be wrong. Compression is good and it only has 33k miles. When I drive without using boost, I can go 1000 miles with no noticeable oil usage. When I really get on it, you can see what looks like smoke in the exhaust, and after a lot of driving like that the oil level is down. There's hardly any oil in the IC pipes/intake, so I'm really not sure. Maybe oil is leaking into the hot side on boost and getting turned into mist in the turbo and blowing out the exhaust.

I agree with docwyte - I wouldn't bother with the 27/6. The change in HP/Tq won't justify the effort. I have a 27/6 and my Dyno isn't significantly different than this one.
Also, a 27/6 is - I think - a re-machined 26/6. Many of those have had problems with long term durability. Mine started smoking under boost at abt 6K miles...
My advice - if you can swing it - is to get a Turbo/chip from Vitesse matched to your other mods (and yes a Tial as well) and maximize the whole package.
My 2 cents.

Well I'd love to have a Stage 2 from Vitesse, but can't justify that much right now. After the WG, I'll take it to the Dyno again, then will probably try the 27/6. Like I said I can always put the 26/8 back. The car is really just a toy anyway and it will be something I've never done before. I'll probably also take a cone filter with me to the Dyno and swap it out to see what difference that makes over the stock airbox.
