vitesse turbo install - intake manifold bracket
hi all,
shop just got done installing a vitesse stage 2 for me, and they ended up ditching the bracket that sits under the intake manifold (near the #1 runner i think) because it wouldn't clear the water pipe. I've read that other people cut it for clearance, etc, but they just fabbed up another bracket to hold the heat-shield in place.
does this bracket have any purpose other than to hold the heat-shield? i was wondering whether it provides support for the manifold, or is that not really important?

I'm happy to hear that. 
I installed the same turbo about a month ago and ditched it hoping for the best. After replacing a collapsed cat pipe and ditching the cat (as of yesterday thanks IMA), the car is a beast! You'll have fun, the difference between it and a stock turbo is pretty incredible.
Now for a wideband and some tuning.
