knowing that you are patronizing cheap knockoffs and undercutting businesses. that's poetic 'integrity'.

i have no idea, it was just a preliminary thought. i would guess whatever it costs to actually make the mold, and then the cost of fiberglass or whatever, plus time/effort.

rich sandor up in vancouver b.c. was actually making one that not only replaced the batwing, but also extended further to replace the second underbody engine cover as well, making both bottom sections a single-piece design. not sure what happened to that project though.

ehall; i have nothing against original designs being marketed for a fair price, but if said product can be copied and made better for less than the original, there's either something wrong with the original design, or the original is a ripoff. a great example of a fair original design would be the a-pillar gauge pod still being sold by lotek for $50. i would be hard-pressed to say that's a high price for said product. the air splitter, however, seems to be a ripoff even at the 'bargain basement' price of $200, especially if it can be damaged so damn easily and is unrepairable.

here's the said gaugepod;

sorry, i didn't mean to hijack this thread.

I've gone over it tons of times. It ripped off and bent the nose all to hell. These things are seriously low. Word to the wise. and it doesn't matter who builds a knock off, it will still be too low. I'm incredibly careful and this still happened...and on an area that I travel everyday.

Because I have enough integrity not to steal other peoples designs.
ehall, the AIR splitter is a copy of the original 951 Gemballa splitter. Hows that for Irony???

and it doesn't matter who builds a knock off, it will still be too low.
You have no idea what I'm building so don't speak before you see the finished product.

Wretched WORLD ! ! ! My fear for this exactly but alas I am going to get one anyways as I think they change the look of the car COMPLETELY.

Soooo your on number three huh?

P.S. 650 lb springs??? did I read that right? I thought 350 that I run were stiff. Streetable for my tastes but still stiff.

Good Grief 650...

I wasn't addressing you Rich. I didn't even know you were buiding anything, but if the front lip has the same dimensions then it will be too low.

nize I don't disagree with your premise. I'm more than a little agravated after the last 24 hours...and I'm not a nice guy when I'm happy!
btw it can be rebuilt, i just don't have the time right now. my time is worth more than 200 bucks at the moment.

they were supposed to stiffen the front tomatch the struts and to allow for less dive, as ideally that should have kept the splitter from catching as much.
I had 350's but found certain conditions to be really bouncy due to the mismatch of strut/spring.

Does the splitter sit lower than the batwing or would the splitter still be at the same height?

not likely to get under $200. not enough money in it.

even if I sold 10 splitters at $200 each, that's only $2000... minus materials and the vast amount of time it takes to make em, there's very little profit there.

you gotta rmember laying down the wax and waiting for each one to try takes forever, and if you only have one mold, it takes even more forever.
