Question How do I test BOV

Hi Guys, I am having a strange new problem, my intake or "J" Boot as it is called is blowing off my AFM. I have tightened it down about 4 times now, but it keeps poping off. The car seems to be running fine, just the boot problem. Could a faulty BOV cause too much pressure in the boot? Is there any tests for BOV's?

The easiest and most straightforward test is to remove the BOV from the car, and attempt to blow into any of the openings. If you can blow any air through it at all, it's no longer suitable for use and must be replaced.

There are many fancy aftermarket options, but I find the 993 unit from Porsche works just fine. YMMV

you can also push the valve open and put your finger over the vacume nipple then see if it holds when you let the valve go
