The 87s head I believe uses the same head gasket as the 8v 2.5 liter, so I think you will have to modify the front coolant passage in the same manner as a standard 2.5liter turbo head to work on the 3 liter block.

I think the s head is a bolton deal but the exhaust and intake wont bolt up on a 2.5 block. The S2/968 heads need to be modified.

The opposite is for if you have a s2/968 block

what from the bore differnce? no way .
the main issue is there is a water port on the front left of the head that goes down to line up with 90 bend cast in the block linking the head to the water pump it moves back an inch in the later ones i'm sure that is the only obsticle

The 87s engine is a 2.5 liter so 100mm.
