Default Wierd noise after changing timing...

So, my timing was off a tooth. I lined it up on the flywheel underneath, then moved the cam gear one tooth clockwise, making the timing correct. The car now drives much better, normal spool up, etc, but i have a very loud tap noise coming from the area of the distributor/camgear/1st cylinder valves. I can not pinpoint the noise.

The only thing that I can picture making this noise by changing timing would be fuel combusing out of the combustion chamber, but i am positive the timing is correct right now, so what gives? Thanks

If the tension on the timing belt is set less than it was before, the noise could be from it slapping around under the covers.
