Wait, weren't you just driving around with like no oil before this? Do we need to get you a "checking oil levels for dummies" book or something?

And now the bad news….
If you had that much coolant in the sump then you were running your engine with only coolant as a lubricant. Oil is lighter than water (and coolant) so as little as a couple of quarts of coolant will displace the oil away from the oil pick up.
At the very least it needs to be flushed with oil a bunch of times. At worst you have added a lit of wear to your bearings and cam train.
Sorry about that!

You would not believe the pain that having the wrong dip stick in the engine has caused me. The shop told me they put a mark on this dipstick where the oil is SUPPOSED to be. Well, apparently that was not the correct place!

Before the headgasket job I did the coolant and oil were mixing big time. I drained the oil pan, radiator, and block to the best of my ability. I filled the car up before starting it (obviously). Drove it for a few miles before this incident. There is still some coolant left on the walls of my oil passages im sure, which is why its mixing with my oil and caused the milky look of the oil i drained last night. I filled it up with new oil, and plan to change it again very soon to keep getting the residule stuff out. Thanks!

I have to admit, I am still confused here. You put in 6.5 quarts of oil after the change, pulled out either 8 or 10 quarts and it was coolant mixed with oil. You found oil 'filling the head ports' when you pulled the manifold, but all is well? How did the oil get in the head ports? If you drained the oil during the head gasket change, how did enough new coolant get in the oil for you to notice it in the oil change? You drove it for 150 miles and all was well, but then had white smoke pouring out of the exhaust because you overfilled the oil?

This isn't adding up for me. I would keep a very close eye on your oil and on your coolant level...you may still have a problem.
