Default Stock pressure plate w/ 6-puck clutch disk?

Just wondering if anyone has tried using a stock pressure plate w/ a 6-button clutch disk such as this?

6-Button Clutch Disk

I'm looking for ~400rwhp without an increase in pedal-pressure...

I am currently using a 6 puck disc with the stock pressure plate. It seems to hold fine this far, about 500 miles on the setup. I am not sure about supporting that level of horsepower, I am in the 325rwhp range and it works fine for me. Great , stock pedal feel.

Thanks for the reply! I've heard the factory setup is good for ~350RWHP, so figuring the 6-puck with a higher coefficient of friction should hold more?

Theres a good amount of weight to be saved by upgrading the pressure plate, which will help you reach your goal a little quicker

I don't know why you wouldn't want to upgrade the PP. Taking apart the clutch is such a PITA you might as well do it right. Check my sig for what I did when I did my clutch job.

Save yourself the trouble and upgrade the pressure plate. Friction coefficient of the clutch material doesn't have nearly as much of an effect at holding torque as increased clamping force from an aftermarket pressure plate does.

Talk to Scott Gomes at area 951. He sells a similar setup, stock PP with sprung centered puck disk.
Search for posts by George D about this setup.
