KLR knock sensing to DME
#16
I'm running 100 octane unleaded.
I tried deleting the breather today and going back to connecting the AOS to the port that is just downstream of the MAF. No change in my knock hit rate.

Have you checked your peak boost pressure lately? I will get some better gas soon and let you know what happens. My car is pretty close to stock except for the Weltmeister chip set, shimmed WG and 3 bar FPR.

i'll ask here as well to further descuss the relationship between the KLR and the DME i want to run programmable manangment but the keep the klr to keep the knock sensing as for the knocks coming from hp18 bench test your injectors a bad one will cause a lean knock.

I added some octane booster to a fresh tank of gas, then I got much fewer counts per gear, sometimes none.
Today I had a real strange thing happen. Getting low on the tank with octane booster I went to a gas station that sells Trick racing gas, unleaded 101 octane. I had about five gallons left, add five gallons of Trick and topped it off with 10.5 gallons of 92 octane 76. Leaving the station in first gear I got about 10 counts at part throttle! Any little stab at boost would result in ten counts or so. After driving around for about five minutes everything seemed to settle down. I went up a hill and hit about 5500 in third and got NO KNOCKs, although I could have gotten my *** handed to me by the law.
I am wondering if the IC was heat soaked or the gas mixture was not homogonous yet? I have only managed one more count in eighty miles since.
Any ideas?

gt37vgt, I just got my injectors back. Injectors all have good spray patern and flow within 4% of each other. Another friend of mine got 2500 counts in an E Class club racer on a 3 day race weekend.

would be and exelent experiment to number them and move them around as the manifold has unequel air flow there is likely to be a most favourable configuration i'd say the mismatch in air flow through the runners will be more than 4% 4 thermo couples on the headers would realy prove the pudding all depends on how much time you have

i wonder why 4 runs hot i would say that the 4 runeer would flow the best air as it would get a ramair from the planum i wonder wieather you could doo any cooling mods to correct it .
i think it could be coolant flow direction so its flows from the front to the back of the block then up and returns hot from the head . when poeple convert to electric water pump they often reverse flow for cooler head hotter bore. i think the only real way to get cooling symatry is to pipe cool water in back near 3and 4 gee i'm realy sidtracked now

i think i will do some major re-enginerring of the cooling system on my hottie i think i use multiple bosch electic pumps with water in each end of the head and water out each end of the block with flow through the middle of the gasket
