not true in practice, because the factory gauge only reads to 2.0 bar. so 2.0 bar on the factory gauge could be anything over 14.3.

spencang, if you're going to be mucking around with LBEs and stuff, you really need to get an aftermarket boost gauge. it's not safe to rely on the factory gauge once it's reading 2 bar, you're asking for trouble.

Bar and atmosphere just happen to be close in number... a little too close for the easily confused.

This has been hashed out 1000 times on Rennlist.
Really? What the hell is the bar measurement for then?

Yes, really.

Thats like asking what a millimeter is for? (Which is probably a valid question....)

Bar is a metric unit of pressure measurement.

1 bar = 100 kilopascals = 1.01 atm = 14.5 psi etc...

Yep, got me there.

I wonder if the other dash gages also become inaccurate when they are pegged, or run off the scale?

I wish we could get some of that "crazy" inspiration in our country... The SI system is soooo nice to work with. If only we could get the damn civil engineers to see the light... The rest of us engineers have!
