Was it the line that connects the fuel rail to the damper that burst?

I took some pictures of the car. When I went to work today and pulled off the fuel line and had a braided stainless line brazed onto the fittings. wow $50. I started the car up today and is running rough due to vacum leaks and melted injector harness. I did go to my friends shop today and he gave me a 1.8t passat harness to wire back in. That is what was on the car. here are some pictures. I am not interested in parting the car out. The only thing is that if I do sell it I am taking the hatch (will put stock back on) my best friend is hunting for a nice 951 and wants the hatch.

I am not sure about the wheels i am debating. I am buying a 911sc soon also and I would like to put them on that. the car is an 86

oh yeah the car has spherical strut bearings and a power perfect.
