Yes yes but I don't want to sacrifice seat position. Driving position is everything; it's what keeps you alive during a full race length.

Well, I am constantly surprised/impressed by my car; I first found I had the LSD and now I'm sure I've got sport seats BTW thx for the pics!

I may end up buying another sunroof and doing what thingo and others have done. For autox the lack of sunroof won't matter much but when road racing, I NEED that thing in there!

Now, if porsche had come out w/ a triangular sunroof I wouldn't need the roof installed as much...

I'm 6'6" and fit ok with a helmet. I have the steering wheel (Sparco) spaced back a few inches so I can recline a little more. my eye height is still about where you shorter guys are at so it is not a big compromise to my sight.

If you want to try on racing helmets go to Don's Hot Rod Shop (one of the last real hot rod shops) it is at Stone and Glen. They have a few different types of helmets there you can try on and check clearance.

^^^ hey another Tucsonan! Yeah I've been into Don's a few times for miscellaneous items, but I've never checked out their helmets. Will do.

Before i get around to going there, any idea what price typically is on these helmets?

Azmi, you doing the PCA autox event at Central AZ College tomorrow???

I'm living in texas right now. My friend Aaron got his there for about $100. Check out Arizonarides.com for information on some events we run.

I'm 6'3" and I got a 2nd sunroof and took out the liner and changed the latch on the drivers side. It will get you about an inch. If you don't want to recline anymore it's probably your best option.

I'm a student at the U studying Materials Science and Engineering and Aerospace Engr. Do you have your 951 in Tucson, or does it stay in TX? I've never seen any other 951's here...

I've never heard of that AZrides site 'afore! That's pretty neat, but is there a way to tell what-all the upcoming rides entail? For example, I see that a given ride is 150 miles, but I couldn't find an accompanying map or something to that effect.

When I get back from Thailand this summer for my internship I'll definitely have to join a few rides! I'm assuming they typically last the better part of a day?

email me for more info. seans66ss@hotmail.com we do not post ride information because we don't want to become the victum of a sting operation like what AZ Honda Tuners were a victum of a few months ago. We usually go to Alpine, Kitt Peak, Aravacia, Sonoita/Patagonia and some other locations. We also meet most wednesdays just to BS at Sonic on Broadway and Plumber or at the new In-n-Out.

My brother is a Mechanical Engineering student there too. He is just as much into cars as I am and if you ever need help working on something he will help. My car is registered there but it is here in Texas right now. I will drop you a line next time I'm in town.

Same here.

I have pictures from the event that show the top of the helmet being maybe half an inch taller than the roof, so unfortunatly I don't think any modding of the sunroof would fix that (unless I did a gurney bubble in the roof or something). I'm still trying to figure out if there is a way to mount the stock seats lower in the car.

I found that it was the sunvisor that was rubbing my helmet. Flipping it forward solved it for me. I guess I sit a little closer than some.

Yesterday I had problems rubbing on the sunroof and sunvisor. I like to leave my helmet visor open, because it is very hot during the summer in Texas. I have stock seats and a KBC full face helmet.

I'm 6'6". Long body and normal legs so I have a real problem with roof height. I use an UltraSheild aluminum seat with the 20 degree layback. I have it bolted directly to a MOMO slider with spacers in the front to give it a little more tilt. I have also removed the liner from the sunroof. (not for more room, had to do some repairs and decided not to put it back.) I have plenty of headroom now. Don't know if you can mount that Corbau directly to the sliders though.
