Joining my Rennlist Boost Brothers
Well after a year or so of working on and driving my 87 NA track car, I got addicted to the pleasures of the 944. Keeping the track car streetable meant compromises, so I had to make the call.
I have purchased 'lister Pozican's 86 Champagne/Chocolate 951. She's got high mileage on the clock but is in pretty good shape for being around the block several hundred thousand times. The engine has been rebuilt top and bottom and a few starting mods were put in place including Lindsey MBC and vacuum lines, 951MAX chips, wastegate shims, 3 bar FPR,exhaust, Pioneer stereo, and some other tweaks. Needs a bit of work to tighten up handling, especially at highway speeds as it gets a nasty vibe over 60mph, I believe from the right front. She also has a couple cosmetic glitches that should be pretty easy to take care of, and I will be swapping from chocolate brown to black interior.
I will be implementing his plan for 350rwhp, but will take it nice and slow. Nothing like having 2 44's to keep the POOR in POORsche. But boost is just freaking awesome, and the crackle and pop during shifts is cool. Once I get the suspension dialed I'll take a track day in this thing to get a feel for it, before I go too far down the slippery slope.
Very jazzed to be in the club... I've been reading the turbo forum for a while, and this car just happened to be in the right place at the right price. Don't have any of my own pics yet as I drove the car back from Seattle in the rain in the dark last night so.... I'll post a couple of his.
To Alex, best wishes at the new job, and come back to 951 land soon! Thanks!
