Self explanatory pix for those interested in caging their '44. Pretty smooth so far. Fiberglass doors fit well enough, will need a bit of tweaking to set a good seal at the roof line, but that's just a matter of getting the hinge bolts adjusted.
FYI for others doing this project, you will need to slightly reroute the wiring bundle that goes back to the tranny on the drivers side to get the main roll bar centered in the car correctly. We gained four or five inches of seat travel that way. Luckily the guy with the tie showed up just in time to supervise.
Not for the faint hearted and not even as far many racers go. By the time you get a car optimized for the track, precious little of the car other than it's basic dimensions and drive line remain. Perhaps best done with owner not present

Nothing like your evolving GTR cruise missile but the 7 car is a sweet handling squirrel plinker that's moving up from DE and autox to SCCA hill climbing if all goes according the plan this season. Can run SCCA EP class as shown.

Have Autopower "second level" weld-in door bar set sitting in the garage. Still pondering final strategy. Car seems to meet time trials spec as is, but your point is well taken beyond compliance to survival.
