Question Bad oil leak from the turbo area, Manifold off.

Hey guys,

My 1986 944 turbo devoloped this nasty oil leak wich seems to be coming from the turbo area.

I removed the fuel rail and manifold yesterday to get a better look around the turbo area but its very dirty and cant really tell were the leak is.

What area or lines should i investigate here first?

Thanks for any info.

O-ring under the two bolt flexible pipe on top of the turbo. O-ring under the turbo (two bolts from underneath.

+1 I have seen the turbo bolts actually come loose from the bottom causing a nasty leak from the lower o-ring. If your just noticing a bad leak from that side of the engine, I would also investigate your aos o-rings, balance shaft cover and the rear seal on it since I have also seen the heat totally eat the o-ring on that little disc at the back.

Make sure the short little 90 degree hose attached to the top of the AOS is tightened down. Mine was loose awhile back and lets just say that after several months of trying to find the "leak", the whole underside of my intake and everything surrounding the top of the cylinder head was caked in oil.
