I bought an 89 944 NA the other day and got the head off last night. Looks like there is just one valve bent.
What is the next step to get this ready to put onto a turbo engine? I don't have a car or engine yet for this but I want to have it ready.
Can I just replace the one valve and is there anyone online that sells them? Do I need to replace the springs?
Is there an advantage to keeping the block and just adding the turbo to this motor? I guess I would have to change out the crank and pistons?

Well - I washed it before I took the pictures and everything was holding water except for that one. Is that a good sign or would the water need to be under pressure?
What is the big draw of the 2.7 litre heads anyways if the valves are so expensive?
Is it better to put this head on a S2 block and turbo it or leave it on it's original block and turbo it?
What is the budget required to get it all working anyways - at least 5k?

Josh, The head must be taken apart, cleaned and pressure tested. For a turbo application, the exhaust valves and springs must go. The intake valves must be inspected and replaced as needed ($$$). The S2 block and the 2.7L block are the same. Finding low compression pistons for the Alusil block is another $$$$ item.

$500? You must be thinking of a different car.... You've been doing ok? We might be meeting up on Sunday for some wrenching if you are interested.

I would love to do some wrenching with you guys soon! I have to replace my AOS seals whenever I get my new AOS from Sunset! May come bug you guys for some help!
