Gauge Pods...
Hey, Guys,
Starting in on a few very simple upgrades on my 87 951. I have put a boost gauge in the car and am looking to mount it where it is easily viewable while driving. I thought I saw a site that was selling an a pillar kit for 2 gauges, just can't find that site again.
So, any ideas on mounting? Figure there are a few of you out there who have mounted a boost gauge some place other than the cubbie under the radio.
Thanks,
Dale

The pillar pod is the perfect place for you boost guage and AFR meter, preferrably a wide band. A slight glance over while heading down the straights. I would not want guages in the cubby, too low, wrong angle, and if driving into the sun you can't even see down there.

Hey, Guys,
Thanks for the quick reply!!! I have missed the list the last 18 months. Fighting to keep my marriage of 20 yrs alive. Too bad she decided falling in love with the married pastor was a worthy thing.

I found my dual pillar pod to be in just the wrong place on certain decending left hand corners. So if you plan on doing any track time, I would think about that location a bit. I never noticed a problem until I was in the helmet on the track. It isn't so in the way that I would make the effort to move it.
For the street, you can't beat the visibilty of that location.

Thats one reason why I don't want to do the a-pillar pods - that other cars will be able to see the gauges. I know people have done it (KuHL951 being one), but does anyone have pics of how to mount a boost gauge on top of the steering column?

Now, the steering column idea I like. That is where I mounted my tach on my old 65 stang in hi school. Of course a large diameter steering wheel, but the tach was right there where I could see it just fine.
LFA, I like your install as well. I am not as concerned with looks as I am with functionality with this gauge.
Thanks, All.... great to be back and even greater to have the little red lady back on the road!! So much fun to drive..
