+1 bridges. That plaid interior brings tears to my eyes. Maybe the PO was too embarrassed to drive it around with that interior and only came out in the wee hours of the morning.

I bet the timing belt is original and so is the oil!

Nice clean car ( - interior). Thats the lowest mileage I've ever seen to this date! Theres a black/black 89 951 in cali with 5600 miles for 27,000!

Interesting.

It has the door panels that came with the ten speaker system, yet doesn't have the equalizer that was also part of that system.

The rubber trim around the trunk keyhole is broken. It's $5, but how'd they manage to break that on a virtually unused car?

As well as the sunroof delete, it is also not equipped with cruise control.

I would kill to get that interior in my Turbo S. Mine is faded and looks nothing like that.

I have an 87 that has the factory hood liner in it and it is coming apart little by little. I have been watching the thread on recommended replacement liners.

I have the boxed rockers on my N/A with the Carrera GT front end and scoop - its pretty over the top for an N/A, but it picks up chicks, especially in red lol.

I feel bad for knocking this pretty beautiful example of a 951S but still, there are some things that make me wary...

And they all reside in the engine bay and are noticeably discolored for a 2k mile car:
-- PS reservoir
-- strut tower rubber (should be black not brown)
-- the aforementioned coolant reservoir
-- airbox

Discolorization like that comes from heat and UV radiation. Given that he probably was not allowing the car to chill in the sun w/ the hood up for weeks on-end, it's probably due to heat. But then of course the $64000 question: how did this happen for such a low-mileage car? The car must have been run for much longer than the mileage suggests.

Regardless, however, a beautiful car w/o a doubt, even despite the crazy '80's color scheme.

The guy could have also just started it twice a week, let it idle for 30-40 min then shut it off.
Do that twice a week for 19 years, that’s 1976 times the car was ran for 30 min.
That could be why the reservoirs are discolored, im just being optimistic.

If you have to ask.................

You probably can't afford it.

Road Scholars has had the '86 944 turbo with 21k miles on E-bay for a while. Today it was at $20k and had not met reserve. Does that tell you anything about what they would want for this jewel?

It isn't a delete it is factory spec, as was no cruise control (if I misunderstood what you meant sorry ). Such is the way the Turbo S (initially) was designed - it was only half way through the year that Porsche opened the Turbo S model up to standard Turbo amenities. I'm not sure about the premium speakers without the equalizer though, I wouldn't be surprised if that is simply how the Turbo S came.
