I have had both, and the first thing is a 931 has that reverse pattern gearbox that takes months to master, after that it was a great car. If you can afford both, go for it, but don't part with the 951 for it.

That's another can of worms , my only answer is this , a 914-6 , 911 ,930 ,931, 944s,951s,928gt, are all great cars each unique, each of a different flavor , all enjoyable to me in there way. if i had to choose just one , nah , don't want to , do yourself a favor and try the others , not for a drive , but over time a 914-6 done right is amazing much better than all of the boxster derivatives i have driven ....

I am putting a 914/4 together for my father and I have to say the car is a blast to drive. Don't let the lack of hp or lack of status fool you. Very, very fun car.

A Porsche, is Porsche, is a Porsche of course. Have yet to meet one that wasn't fun in some respect. I would try and ignore nitehawk951 as much as possible, he only likes his car.

Having had a first-gen 924, I have always had a fondness for the 931. I would love to get a 2-tone brown/gold with a Pasha Interior.

Definately don't see them as often as the 951 or 944.

Now that you mention it is kinda of weird but I have never seen a 931 running here in So Cal.

Calm down nemesis. How could I or any human being not like my car? If it was illegal to own a beautiful car, the 951 would be very high on the list of law breakers. Especially mine.
I already apologized for before nemesis, I know I get a little too excited sometimes. But I'm still so happy that I finally have this machine, especially one this nice.
I dont get it though, I mentioned to everyone here that there was a complete non-running 931 down here ($900) and no one cared. I thought I would at least hear from lart about it, seeing as how he likes to make a car part ways with itself.

I will keep my eyes peeled for anything that needs a home as I've said many times already. Now please excuse me, I have to go stare at my awesome car.
