my euro 86 registration says 2 821lbs (1280KG) or 2 755lbs (1250KG) depending on spec.

a guy I know weighed his 200SX with ls1 v8 the other day, with fuel and all it was only 2 711

Lightest without going to tube frame is about 2,300 - 2,400. Tube frame could get you down around 2,000 +/-.

I do know of a unibody 944 with 968 motor at 2166lbs. Lots of fiberglass and started with an early NA tub I think. My 84 NA is 2400lbs or so with full race prep and all steel & stock glass. However NA running gear is a bit lighter.

Thanks for posting everyone.
Just a reminder that I'm looking for the lightest "published curb weight"

Thanks

Lorenzo, I have my '86 951 manual here. It says:

You might want to find the maximum published weight for a CUP car.
( either 944, 951, or S2. Rothman's or Escort. )

I believe that even with the added matter roll cage, the cup cars might be lighter than a regular production car.

I suggest you PM "sweanders" or "asarus" or "centerpunch" , as they all own 944 turbo Cup cars.

PS, I still want to take a look at your car.

PPS, drop by Boundary Bay and check out our autocross this weekend!

PPPS, my car is getting close to 2700#.
