Default Any transmission guru's out there?

I would like to know if a LSD unit from a NA car (trans code 7V) will work in a turbo transmission. I have one from this transmission that ate a pinion gear and would like to put it in a turbo tranny if it's possible to have a spare. Link to the bad karma...

that sound hurts to hear. On topic though the lsd from the n/a I think is the same as the turbo one.

The LSD diff should go right in... but there are a lot of steps in the Porsche service manuals about properly measuring and shimming the mesh/backlash of the ring and pinion. Not doing this properly will severely shorten the life of the box.

I thought it would work, just wasn't sure. Definitely will have a pro put it in and do the setup. Tranny work is over my head as it is not something the average mechanic can do properly. Takes specialized tools and knowledge.

Yep, the 7V trans (late 944 N/A w/ LSD) used the standard Turbo (non-Turbo S) LSD unit.
