Question Question about the reference sensor bracket/sleeve....

Currently we are fighting some issues on a 1989 951S not starting after major work has been done to it. I was not present for much of the work - just finishing it up for a customer after he ran out of free time to work on it.

The speed/ref sensor bracket has a sleeve on the ref sensor that none of our other cars has. I looked it up in the PET and the sleeve itself is P.N. - 944 101 320 00.

Is this supposed to be there? How can I check to make sure it's installed properly?
