The stock boost gauge is disconnected, I have no KLR or DME so nothing drives it. It's not a photoshop, I assure you that.

I'm sure his stock boost gauge was just disconnected?

Great pic though. I had to download Mike's. Maybe I'll do the same when I hit 150k Currently at around 115k

Nice!!

Funny thing is that over the weekend I too decided to open her up for the first time in a long time on the "TRACK" since all new shocks/struts and dead on alignment. About 145. And yes, once you get over 100 these things pull fast! Like super car fast in the top ends.

They've become so obscessed with rasing revenue that they've conditioned people to think the "offenders" are hardened criminals.
That is what I would think but many on here will say that the 951 is not made to stay at high end speeds due to being on boost for so long and your EGT's etc will go up real fast.

I've had my 951 about 4 years now and only have seen 2-3 other 951's around the central FL area.

So what is the safest wat to come down from those speeds? Slowly apply brakes or just let it coast down, etc. ???

On the track, you never want to just let off the throttle, since the rear end could come loose.

On the road, as long as it is straight and flat-ish, it should be fine to let off the throttle, let it cruise but have you're foot near or touching the brakes incase of an emergency stop.

The 951s do these speeds in stock configuration with the boost bleeding off in higher rpm - and, they are not flat out at these speeds so I'm wondering how much of an issue EGT's are? I thought it was more an issue for the guys approaching 300km/h in modded 951s?

I can't say as that I've ever taken my hands off the wheel to snap a pic at those speeds. I used to take my car to a 'closed course' to test the boost hose tightness before track events. She'll bounce off the rev limiter with the track tires on (275's). Not sure what the actual speed is but it's up there a ways. Feels like 80mph in an american 'sports car'. You gotta love these cars.

Naturally, on a closed course. On a completely different subject. There is a really cool bridge running out of Orlando on 417. Very long...2 lanes in each direction..on their own bridge. No way for traffic to pull out in front of you...no way for Mr Officer to approach you head on. Once upon a time, I wondered if that wouldn't be the perfect 'closed course'. Not that I would ever do such a thing of course. But if you live near there as I used to...it sure can be fun.

I do have a really cool ticket around here somewhere from those days..but that is another story. Real glad that cop was a race car driver.

I've got a 180 speedo in mine and had it read 175. I don't know how accurate it was though.

sweet pic. Glad you are enjoying what the 951 does best.

That is where I was doing my 145 run over the weekend that I mentioned earlier in the thread.

Only issue there is crosswinds on the bridge. But that area of the 417 is known for long straights in the middle of no where.

I would say November in Daytona for the Rennfest would be the best bet. But I am up for one sooner.
