Default Help no boost

86 951 56k

I have had the car for 6 months the boost started acting goofy today. Everything is normal until the dash boost gage gets to about 1.2 bar then the power drops and the motor sounds like a slow motor boat (bla bla bla...). Boost continue to build slowly, but no power.

I have not done the generic maintenance stuff like replace all the vacuum lines yet. Is there something I should check first before replacing parts at random? Cycling valve maybe?

I'd start by checking all the rubber couplers from the turbo out to the intake.

You might try doing a search on 'limp mode' and see if any of the symptoms descibed sound familiar. The 1.2 bar on the stock guage rings a bell (from reading in this forum, not from experience).
