what is this piece?

What is this bracket and how is it oriented? It goes next to the turbo somehow.

EDIT: looks like it's the balance shaft heat shield, still need orientation help though...

The indented area allows the oil line out of the BS to go to the turbo, the two arms, support the wire harness coming forward. HTH

Thanks a lot Ski. I took this piece off 3 weeks ago and forgot exactly how it went back with respect to the hoses/wires in that vacinity.

I took mine off 4 years ago and left it that way.

I have my turbo wrapped so I deemed this heat shield unnecessary weight and quite generally in the way.

With 3 weeks off and half hour drive to Swaintech, you'd think I would have taken my exhaust/turbo parts over there so heat shields might not be so necessary...
