A 0.8 bar WG spring should be just fine for making boost, here is a 20 psig data log with my 0.8 bar spring. This is for a K26/6 which should have a lot more exhaust backpressure than your #8 hotside. I think you should continue diagnosing your boost problem in other areas....

20 psig run w/ k26/6 and 0.8 bar spring

If it is not a boost leak or an exhaust leak, it might be something with the EBC itself.

Thanks Trucho!

I'll post my WOT run in a few hours and if it looks bad, I'll start vacc testing on the sensing legs.

Oh, I forgot to mention, my 20 psi run was done on 100 Octane Race Gas. With 93 octane street gas, I do not run boost that high.

Well... a couple of 130+mph WOT runs later... < impressive.

Keep in mind about a year ago when my Turbo Performance 27/6 conversion started eating itself, I pressed the charge air leg (found a few small leaks-since repaired), and vac tested the WG control leg (no problems there) looking for reasons why my boost was missing.

Here are the pics.

you should be able to go much higher than 15.2 psi. What kind of EBC are you running? and how is it hooked up?

Oh, btw, you will get a much better Zetronix graph if you superimpose all AFR, Boost, RPM, and EGT outputs. Just go to Settings, Plot Settings and check the "Draw on 1st Graph" box for AFR, RPM, Boost and EGT. Leave TPS unchecked because that is the independent variable. That is to say, your right foot controls TPS, all other variables depend/react to the TPS values, so it helps to keep them separate.

I would also "uncheck" the display box for Lamda and User Data 1 in order to unclutter the graph.

Thanks, I'll unclutter the screen.

Running a Profec Spec II in dual port to a 38mm Tial.

HEHE, I met up with one of those police Mustang GT's right at the end of my run, best timing!

I just looked up the user's manual for that EBC and it only lists connection in single port mode,

installation diagram

are you sure you have it hooked up in dual port mode? Could you post a diagram of your actual boost controller hook up?

To hook up your EBC in dual port mode, check out this diagram:

http://forums.rennlist.com/upload/dual_port_scan.jpg

With this hook up, you can use the black **** MBC to crank in as much WG “spring” pressure as you desire, of course, given that the EBC can still open the wastegate without creating boost spikes.

Thanks for the info Trucho, the diagram shows my plumbing. What numbers are you running?

The profec recorded a "peak" of 16.8 so I went back to the zt2 run and after I cleaned up the display I did find a 17lb occurance. Quickly after that boost returned to the 14.5-15lb rate. My "warning" is set at 16lbs with a 5% "limit", which is the percentage boost is reduced once the limit has been hit, for a resultant 15.2lb charge.

The zt2 is really going to get my ebc dialed in.

Part of that learning curve is-

What the heck is going on with my boost pressure peior to the 17lb peak?

What is A/F doing at steady state TPS?

My old settings:
set - 39
gain - 20
set gain - 12.5
warn - 16
limit - 5

New settings, to be tried:
set - 54
gain - 15
set gain - 11
warn - 17
limit - 4
