Default Slow to build boost

Hi,

I was preparing to take my 1989 944 turbo to Barbers this weekend for a DE. While driving the car home from work, I noticed that it seemed a little down on power. Once I got out of the city, and was able to get it up on boost, I noticed that full boost didn't seem to come on until about 3200-3400 rpm. My reccolection was that it used to kick in pretty good around 2800-3000rpm. The only mods are Vitesse chips, 5bar FPR and boost enhance (ReliaBoost).
All the vacum lines, hoses, etc seem to be attached, and no apparent cracks or holes anywhere.
Any ideas?

Thanks,

Dave

Dave, 5bar FPR or 3bar?

Check for vacuum leaks, some of the hoses could have a split. If under boost the car is running overly rich, more than likely it's a vacuum issue.

Default Slow to boost

John,

Maybe its a 3bar. Its whatever you sent with the chip set. Could it be wastegate issue, not closing all the way? I am going out right now the check the dump pipe and see if that gets warm under4 idle conditions.

Thanks,

Dave
