333pg333, I don't compete in any events, I've only been to the track a couple times. I'm hoping to do some DE's at Road Atlanta this year.

I will probably eventually get 17" wheels, but for now I'd rather spend $800 on tires rather than $1600+ for tires/wheels..

I'm considering Toyo Proxes RA-1 because they are a streetable r-compound tire. People get 5000+ miles out of them, even with a few track days.. that would be plenty for me.

Thanks for the responses all, I had thought a couple times about getting 245's up front, looks like that'll be the size choice when I do buy tires.

Do 245/45-16s really fit on all four corners? is this a better way to go than the 225/50-16 front and 145/45-16 rear?

Ive fit 245's on the front of my car before with no issue. The only difference is i have smaller diameter springs and cut off the original spring perches. I dont think it would be a issue regardless.

I just shaved 2 sets of the 225/50/16 and 245/45/16 Toyo RA1 today. They are the best fit for Porsches.
