I am going by what tire and wheel manafactures say...... To exceed this will effect the handeling of your car in a negative way. FYI, Boxster lightweights are smaller sizes than the 996's. The 996's are 8 and 10', vs 7 1/2 and 9's for the Boxsters.

Yes he did, that's a fact. He has an 1987 with rolled fenders. I talked to him today actually. And he even says he firmly believes he can "easily" fit bigger tires on his car too. Below are his own words, which I posted in another thread that Patrick was part of. For "modern" rims, they sure are very sharp looking.

"I am running Factory Carerra Lightweights from an '02 996. They are 8" and 10" by 18, they are the stock offset. I run 225/40 and 295/35 PZero Corsa Pirellis. No spacers, no rub, and my car is so low it won't clear a beer can laying on it's side. I do run full coil overs with no torsion bars and 550# frt and 700# rear springs."

There are obviously some old or current wheels on some of these sites, but there are some that I've yet to see on some of our cars. With the Fikse, BBS,Simmons etc they do tend to be more classic in style. I am thinking more for my road wheels too. For my race I will probably going for the ones in the bottom right hand side of this link:

I do like the look of those Carrera l/weights but again, what I'm talking about is some of the wheels in these links. I know they're not all pleasing to the eye but some of them really are a bit different to the ones we're used to seeing on our cars.....
