Thats the same turbo on my 2.8 - It suits my configuration perfectly, qiuck spool up and pulls hard all the way to redline - I love it

Andial - your numbers aren't too shabby for only 13.5 psi of boost.

I would crank it up to 15.5 and see if the boost falls off as it approaches red line. If it falls off, I would back boost off to where ever it falls to. If it holds 15.5 to red line I would leave it there and enjoy it. When I had a K27/8 on my 2.5L it would only hold 17psi to red line. I have no idea what the limit of the 27/6 is, I assume it would be a little lower than the 27/8.

Default Turbo

Hi there,

I have a Lindsey Sport turbo (#10 hot housing) with Vitesse MAF in my 2.8 stroker. I have no idea how this compares performance wise to for example Super 61 or 65 or Vitesse turbo's.
Could anyone explain the real world difference between the Sport and Super turbo's?
I haven't driven the car that much yet but I think I saw 1bar boost little above 3000 rpm's.

As the weather gets better here I'll take it to dyno though to see how it really performs as it is.

Is Lindsey building the engine for you? Are you happy so far with them?

Thanks

Yes Lindsey is building my 2.8. I am very happy so far...I've lost count of how many little things they found and fixed that could have been easily overlooked. Lindsey Racing has also done a great job of putting together the best combination of performance, endurance, and low cost.

I will agree you with Richard on all those points. Lindsey did a fantastic job building my old car. Working with Mike was an absolute pleasure. Anyway Richard, do you have any updates on the car at all?

Update as of March 17th.

Stripped the heat shields off the stock headers to find some huge cracks in a couple of welds. Oh so that's where the spool robbing exhaust leaks were. I was hoping not to spend any money on the headers besides just haveing them coated, but as with everything else, if you are going to replace something on a rebuild you might was well upgrade it.

I'm not interested in a fancy smancy 4 into one, or an equal length twisty turny mess. Just some improvement over stock without moving the power band. With a very tight budget in mind, Mike is looking into what he can find for me. Looking like custom headers.

While waiting for a header solution Wes has been going thru my wiring harness making sure it is in tip top shape with a good solid connection thru each wire. He found my reference sensors had been rubbing against the flywheel, the ends were worn off. We think that was the intermittent electrical gremlin I've been chasing since I first got the car.

With all the messed up stuff being found on the rebuild it is amazing this car even ran before this project started.

If you have any harness issues with ohm resistance, let me know, as I have a really good used one in the garage.
