Default weighed my weight reductions today

I stuffed most of the things i pulled off my car in a box and weighed it today. Im not impressed to say the least, it came to 30 lbs plus the spare and back seat. So far ive removed the power sunroof, power door locks, rear wiper, headlight and windshield washers, cruise control, hatch release, charcoal can, and lots of little misc things. Wheres all the big weight? I know the ac is quite a bit but i havent decided on that yet.

What exhaust do you have? The stock system is very heavy. Factory seats too.

Exhaust, about 20lbs of extra wiring, manual windows, manual sunroof (or put a new roof panel in), lexan everything (but the front windshield) tons of tar on the interior, the undercoating, the stock rear subframe, fiberglass body panels, power steering, ac, light weight alternator, etc, etc. I could go on, and on

Stock exhaust was 52#, LR 3" straight through system is 30#.

AC and seats are probably the two biggest items, without replacing body panels and glass. Other than that, it's 5# here 10# there. You will be surprised how much everything adds up once you really start stripping things out (if that's your intent).

I can think of atleast 4 off the top of my head who are lighter than mine. I may eventually cut off in front of the strut towers, but not this year. I look forward to getting the ***** to cut off the rear quarter panels and the rear wheel wells in a couple years though.

Ive already pulled some of the wiring, and insulation under the carpet. Im also planning a fiberglass rear bumper and nose panel. The glass i think im gonna leave since its mostly used on the street. What kind of alternator is lightweight and fits?

It's been floating around -- I don't remember the source anymore. I posted it in this thread -- but you'll need to change the filetype to *.xls to view it:

The seats have been known to weigh 80 lbs. total backseat about 20. T-bars 10. A/C don't know but the damned compressor alone is 20...okay maybe 15. (used the ole hand scale on that one. I can weigh one for you tomorrow though if you want to know. How about the carpet and sound proff crap? That's an easy 30. Your ***....that's up to you.

Cory,
The seats are also very heavy (mentioned already above), somewhat in the 50lbs range each (power seats).

doing this helped me

now asfalt mats are on the way out as well

perhaps it's a climate thing, but here washers and rear windshield viper etc is a must, even for a track car.

as for lart's comment that the cars look crap with no interior.. yes! hence when I'm done removing all the asfalt mats and washed it clean I'll spray everything in the same color.
