Default Must Read: David Pagan at Promotion Experience

I was wondering if anyone here has had any experience or heard anything about him or his company "Promotion" or their reputation in Opa Locka, Florida.

Bought a pair of wheels from him last year. A bit slow to ship them out but eventually I received them as promised.

He sold me supposedly a Tial Wastegate (turned out to be a cheap imitation) for $350 and it had a pinched diaphram. When I told him about it he told me he'd talk to the guy he got it from, never got back to me in over a month, then when I confronted him, he refused to exchange it for me or give me my money back. I had the diaphram fixed and did a pressure test, it only held up to 7psi, less than stock!! I ended up selling it to someone with a Saab turbo on his Mazda Protege 5 with 7psi for $50...

Guy is a flat out thief.. simple as that.

I still have not recieved any of my money back from him and its been close to 3years. He lies to potential customers about his turn-around on cars. He told me it would take 30 days in order to build a car but after 6-7 months of waiting and his usual bull**** excuses I asked him to cancel the agreement. I paid for the paintjob and asked him to return the rest of the money back and he never did. I tried contacting him a million times and he never got back to me. Everytime I think about the dude I feel like strangling him.

Does anyone have his new email information and phone number?

i was seriously considering him to swap a turbo engine in my old s2 cab. the guy sounds like he knows what he is doing, but after some research on rennlist, i found it troubling how many people have bad things to say about him, eventhough i thought he was a good guy. iam happy i didnt go with him since i have heard many horror stories about how slow he is. i know of one guy that waited almost 2 years for his car to be completed after paying over 12k for all the work, and eventually had to take his car to another shop to finish the work. can you imagine!!!!!!

Same thing that happened to me.. I put a deposit down to have him build me a car but we both agreed on 30 days in order for him to complete the car. Next thing I know he starts pushing the deadline one month after another. Some dumbass on rennlist waited like 2-3 years for his car to be completed and its nothing special at all.

That dumbass is Badass951, who waited over two years and spent $25,000!!! I'm sure he'll be posting something shortly in defense of Pagan, watch...

My story is that in May of 2004 I went to test drive an '89 turbo S with my fiance at the time. I felt that thrill I did when I was 16 and it reminded me of the first time I drove a Porsche 944 turbo. I didn't want that one because it had been in an accident and had no history or maintenance records. I started looking around for one on Autotrader and I came across Promotion through a car he had listed but that he had sold. He talked me into getting a car from him (said he was the best in the business) with new belts and head, instead of a used car with no history that could breakdown on me and cost me a fortune (good salesperson, I'll give him that). After more than a month of looking, he calls me and tells me that he has one in the corner of his shop, a black on black that he bought for $2,800 and that he would give it to me for 3K that it was perfect but had caught fire with no major damage. I bought it for $3,000 and signed a contract for him to build it, paint it and put it together. The contract date was July 19, 2004 and it was supposed to be done by September 11,2004. When I went by his garage it was still in the back untouched, he had only done the seats which were sent out!! After over two years of dealing with him and his lies, after doing some research on him and his reputation, I finally picked it up AS IS (unfinished) on September 23, 2006, last year, that's over 2 years the deadline he had to finish it. I lost $700 for the 3" exhaust (he only gave me the Borla muffler worth $140, lost $600 for his software which was supposedly the best around (gave me chips for an '86 and the ECU is from an '89) I had to pay someone $500 to finish it plus spent another $1,300 in parts to get it running (headlights, hoses, componets, etc), that was the worst experience of my life. I should have done some research into "Promotion" before getting involved with this guy (don't want to use any foul adjectives which come to mind). After doing some research, I found out he didn't even have an occupational license (Opa Locka code enforcement informed me of this) and I learned about his reputation (from well known and reputable Porsche Specialists in the South Florida area) was nothing positive. Some people couldn't believe he was still in business, another was surprised he was still alive!! I don't want to mention any names or shops as I will be loyal to my sources. I want my experience to serve all you 951 lovers so that no one has to go thru what I went thru (and what it looks like V944god went thru too). This guy turned my enthusiasm of having my dreamcar into a nightmare. I learned my lesson the hard way, cost me a grand total of $15,000, (was supposed to be for $8,500 in the contract) but now I have a car that runs great and looks good, thanks to my mechanic who was compassionate after hearing my story and charged me half of what it would have cost me in labor. Everyone I tell my story to hates him and they don't even know him or ever want to know someone like that...
