Good question, I asked the same.

On '87+ cars, you have a slip joint in, and a slip joint out. In order to prevent failures as stated, it's imperative that the adapter to Tial joints are solid.

I had special tool install the wastegate so im not sure if he secured the fasteners or not :-/

My guess is he would be the last person to install it incorrectly...


But adaptors to tial (first) it is.
