No, I do not power shift.

Running full throttle, engage clutch and then shift has been a process most cars have been able to handle, not run like that all day long, for the better part of 50 years.

Tool: He doesn't have an electronic device. Just call him "retard" for short.

I don't worry about you or your 10 year project car.

And in NJ I know people are used to running off at the mouth at each other because they know nothing will happen; but in the south, we are more than happy to slap the smart right out of that pickle sucker of yours.

Todd, let it go. Let the thread get back on topic. And I was joking around about being a moron, but was trying to add to the thread about preserving gear. As is the case with Rock. Nevermind though, you missed the point here. And think again? Real nice.

If you plan on sawzalling your car up you better get busy. These transmissions will NOT take WOT shifts. Nor will they take launching, or burnouts. Unless you plan on buying a new trans. Like I've said 10x before, trust me, I know.

I know from my experience, and I've seen it on two other 951s that I know were driven HARD here in WNY.

The 968 box wont be launched or power shifted, period. My car is being mostly retired to track duty and cruising. The bimmer on the other hand

Mike: Did you read that post about Rock? I know you have your own experiences too. Rock needs his 4th tranny. And as I said, he isn't even close by a hair as to what Blackus Amongus is looking to make.

Increased stress will either come from increasing engine output or from impact loadings (as mentioned - the power shifting and hard lauches. etc...).
What are the hard launches, power shifts? Periods of increased load-----increased stress. The pinion is transmitting more torque onto the ring gear. An improper lube will allow for less cusion between the gear teeth

Yes it would be nice if some of those owners, let alone those builders did post here and share some information. If they did, they wouldn't devulge specific info anyway, as it is "trade secret" information. And as a businessman, I have to respect and understand this viewpoint completely. Anyway since I've been a member, I've seen Gomes post a few times, but not much. And JME? Never.

One Lister who had a great 2.5L was Tonyg. If you search, you'll find tons of threads by him, he's not as active as he used to be. He had a "very" worked 2.5L that he tracked often too. He made 400 RWHP+, and I don't ever recall him saying that he had any tranny problems too.

Black Amongus: How about a "bump" to my post #18?
