Question Clutch/flywheel combo?

Can anyone recommend a good/great clutch/flywheel combo. I've read many of your comments regarding this subject, still not sure as to what I really need. I'm building a car that will ultimatey produce around 300+HP. Would like to keep a good firm not hard feel at the pedal. I've looked at the SPEC/Findanza set-up??? comments/suggestions? would be appreciated.. Thanks

I did the spec stage 3 hybrid with stock flywheel, pedal feels firm, slight shrutter on take off, not too bad, my car is daily driven, for street car I don't think I'd do the fidanza flywheel.

Around 380 at the wheels, shutter is not that bad, in stop and go traffic it gets little annoying, but I'm ok with it. It was worse before the clutch was completely broken in. I have about 3000 miles on it now so this is as good as its going to get.

If your goal is only 300 rwhp I would do the aluminum flywheel with a sport clutch. Just enough to get the job done with none of the problems of overkill.

I would do it spec again. I think using lightweight flywheel in a daily driver might get annoying, trying to match revs every time up or down shifting. Just my opinion.

What do you do if you don't match rev's? Do you mean that you have to double de-clutch on the way up the gears as well as heel and toe on the way down? You should be heel and toeing in any case and even though I don't think you'll need to dd-clutch, it's easy too. Try driving something with no syncro at all and that will get you attention. lol

Yeah, well, just try to commute from Delray Beach to West Palm Beach every day with all the construction work going on I-95 and you'd be complaining too.

hours of reading on the subject when you use the search function.

spec pp/ ? > 930 pp/KEP > turbo cup > stock NA.

while you're at, decide if you believe Porsche concluded that the amount of rotating mass was correct.

These topics have been covered AT LENGTH

Sorry I'm not sure of that area, although I can help you drive say from Sydney to Perth via Melbourne and Adelaide. lol
No matter, if you aren't heel and toeing, what are you doing? Doesn't matter if you're driving around the block, you need to look after the transmission. If you just go from eg 3rd into 2nd and then let the clutch out, it will over-rev the engine and the gearbox with prolonged use, but I'm sure you're not doing that.

Yes do a search, lots of opinions and info.

Try to drive some local cars with different clutch setups. My personal experience is that Spec and Centerforce are the worst choice, but thats my opinion. I think they feel like garbage to drive, very crappy to try to modulate and overall a poor pedal feel IMHO. Opinions will also vary widely on the lightweight flywheel thing some love them some hate them. I think they really only become a problem on hill starts or situations like that, but again its a big time opinion thing.

the 930 disk and KEP 1 arent all bad like people say for hard pedal feel. It feels great not harsh to drive and very easy to modulate.
