Just take the 1957 Chevrolet Black Widow for example. It took the general public over almost 24 years before one surfaced and Chevrolet finally admitted that there were a few of these built in the factory. Since the 944 TURBO was introduced in 1986, I wouldn't put it past Porsche to have had a 944 TURBO test car in 1984. If that test car would ever get into the publics hands, well I guess your emails of over-confident auto trivia might slow that sharp tone down a little. Next time you might try it like this:

Hello, your listing appears to have a slight error. The first year a Porsche 944 was available with a Turbo was the 1986 model.
That Black Widow history is quite interesting. Chevy raced Nascar back in 1957 mainly with convertibles(Possum Jones, Fireball Roberts) with 220hp 4 quad carbs, but after rules changes they changed to 2 dr sedans, Chevy 150 series cars with fuel injection. They used 270 hp version of fuelie engine when Corvette was available with 283 hp's mainly because Arkus-Duntov redesigned cam. Last races with 1957 convertibles were run at Labor Day 1958. After that they raced only few months with Black Widows, they soon changed to model year 1958 cars. A friend of mine (from Maine) has owend one of the original Black Widows (only 10 made) from 1977.

What comes to 951 1986 was not the year it was introduced. Here in Europe official introduction was in February 1985 Stockholm International Motor Show. US introduction was 1986. First cars sold in Europe were model year 1985 cars.
