I've no idea. As I said, I wouldn't recommend it since there's no deflection at that point of the chassis anyway.

Ninefiveone,
Thanks for the explanation. I figured he would use the tubeframe up there, but might as well suggest it. I hadn't seen a review of the piece on a non-cabriolet, so I couldn't comment. I have a cab myself, so I'm interested in it.

I've got one of those lower braces, it made a little difference, but there is a lot of other areas to make gains, the chassis can't be too stiff.

These guys found some other ways to "stiffen things up".

Thanks for the info guys, never thought about the welding the panels thing. I'll look into that, we're going to be doing some cool stuff with the suspension mountings etc, it'll be a bit before we can get the pieces fabbed up but its going to stiffen it up in just the right places and work with the tube frame.

I would agree that for his car and application, this would be the "ideal" thing to do. Now if he can afford it is another thing! I'm sure we can just add it to his running tab.

Oh and btw they are going to delete the rain gutters and the space between the quarter window and the roof. They will fabricate a stee section that is the same shape and weld it up along the A pillar and roof then weld the quarter panel to that.

Guns, what 944CS is refering to is commonly known as Seam welding, it's big in the Rally car scene.
