i found a 951 oil cooler in my shed. Does any has the size of the fittings and the length and size of the hoses i would need to run a dual oil cooler set up. a write up would be nice too.

This is pretty easy to do, mount it inverted on the opposite side, measure for hoses

Would this be better than using a Mocal or is it just cheaper and more convenient?

I would think the Mocal would offer better cooling depending on where you put it. The second on this setup, gets about 90% of its frontal area air flow.

so i would need like 2 AN 12 fittings thats all. Sorry for the dumb question but they are like 5-6 dollars a pop and i dont want to be buying and then not using and then have them charging 10% on restocking fee

I'll add to the stupid questions as I too would like to do this. Where do the lines comming off of the second cooler run too. Are there any other pics or write-ups showing this? I'll start searching now, so I don't feel so bad.

the runn back to he pump. umm kinda confusing to explain. umm the 1st cooler the oil is coming in then you have to link the 2nd oil cooler so the 1st cooler out hose run the in the of the 2nd oil cooler than the out the 2nd oil cooler runs to the pump.

I don't know if you can take what you have on the car off easily but here is the way I did it with my old 944S2 race car. I took all of the old hoses and 2 coolers to a hydraulic company. They make there own hoses and swedge on high pressure ends of your choice. I told them what lenght of hose I needed to go to and from the coolers and they had everything in front of them for the size of fittings I needed. It was much cheeper than AN fittings and faster than running back and forth to autoparts stores to find everything, not as blingy as AN stuff but worked great. Just an idea.

I'm in the process of doing something similar, not complete yet, but this is what I believe you will need.

First the routing, the top line on the stock unit (the exit) should be routed to the bottom of the second cooler (when flipped, which is necessary to mount to the opposite side). The top line from the second cooler then back to the engine.

As for the fittings, the factory fittings are (M22x1.5) at the oil cooler housing. (I believe for the cooler too). So you’ll need (if you use a 12 AN hose) a 22mm to 12AN hose fittings.

As I said this is not complete yet and based on research. If anyone knows differently please chime in.

Terry Morris sells a nice Mocal, kit that mounts behind the drivers foglight. A few us have it in the Kansas City Region. It comes with all the hoses and fittings for a simple bolt in installation.

Wormhole thanks great info. Where are you located in NY? i am going to try landjets idea to see how much it is. there are a bunch of hydraulic shops here.
