Door Bars
What's the consensus. I am building a (non-competition to start with, just DE and lapping days) track car that will hopefully be street legal (still gotta have some fun and scare friends). The cage is done except for the door bars. Doesn't SCCA require door bars now? Should I fab some up and add them or not? I know they really make ingress and egress tricky, and I really would prefer not to have them. However, someday I might race the car and also they add considerable side impact protection. If I add them, I'll be adding NASCAR style inside-the-door bars so it will require considerable effort. Who's got an opinion, should I add or omit them?

Tee-bone type incidents are very rare in DE. Now, if you were actually going to race it....

Door bars are safer than no door bar. However they are not required in DE so really you make the choice.
Extra pain of entry/egress or extra safety.
Personally I don't like full cages on the street due to potential head contact. Therefore I prefer a roll bar street/track cars. If going full cage then I'd go all the way and add in door bars. That is just me.
