Default FS: K26/6 24 pin Vitesse Racing AFM chip - $300

I just installed a MAF kit so I have no need for the chip anymore. I was using a 3bar FPR and after market waste gate with it but it has a setting for use with a stock FPR and waste gate.

$300 shipped

How do you change the setting on the chip to work with stock wastegate and FPR? Do I need anything besides this chip to run it correctly? I thought you needed a boost controller or something to run vitesse chips?

Ryan, I'll let you know if you should sell your collection or not

There is a fuel quality switch (FQS) on the DME that lets you adjust some of the chip parameters. This lets you use it with a stock FPR. This is the FQS chart for the chip I've got

* FQS 0 & 4: Stock FPR, APE jetted banjo bolt or LBE w/stock WG. (14psi)
* FQS 1 & 5: 3 bar FPR, shimmed or aftermarket WG 15-16psi boost.
* FQS 2 & 6: 3 bar FPR, shimmed or aftermarket WG 15-16psi boost, slightly richer.
* FQS 3 & 7: FPR set to 46+psi, shimmed or aftermarket WG, 15-18psi boost.
* FQS 4,5,6 & 7: Retards timing (for low octane gas).

A boost controller or jetted banjo bolt is needed to run higher then stock boost(~11psi i think) and boost gauge would be a good idea to make sure you don't run more then your gas can handle (~16-18 psi depending on who you talk to) I was running it with a jetted banjo bolt for a while then an accuboost from boostsciences but any controller should work?

5speed: this is a very good chip (i have it), you should just go ahead and get the 3bar fpr to take full advantage of it!

Lorax what are you running as far as boost control? I am getting a tial 38mm and was thinking of getting an EBC to go with it, but if I do that I wouldnt have enough $$ for a chip.

3 bar fpr will be purchased no matter what.

I like the lindsey black **** but I'm just worried about boost spikes hurting my 180,000 mile motor!

Skene, how did the accuboost work for you, any spiking?
I like the adjustability of the chip. Let me figure out some details and I will get back to you about buying it!

Now that I think about it, I do have a lindsey boost enhancer. So realistically I could buy this chip and just run it on FQS 0 and 4? Would this be safe?

You need to get atleast an mbc... I hated the LBE with a passion. The black **** if fine for me, you just have to make some small adjustments for temperature change.

I've not noticed any boost spikes with the my controller, but to be honest the boost gauge has lived in my glove box since I set the boost.

I don't really know much about the lindsey boost enhancer, but I believe it works like a jetted bolt so you should be ok. You should really get or borrow a gauge to make sure you don't end up overboosting your engine and damaging something.

If you're putting a 3 bar FPR on then you'll want to use one of the settings for that otherwise you'll be lean the whole time. I am very far from an expert on these things so you can probably shoot John at Vitesse an email to get a definitive answer or search the forums? As far as adjustability goes, I think all chips (stock included) let you adjust fuel and timing with the FQS.

Default Skene - what chip are you running with the MAF?

Are you running a bundled MAF chip or did you change to something else? Who's MAF?

Curious - I have a SciVision MAF and Vitessa AFM chip. Like to see what others are doing with similar combinations.

Cheers!

Jeff

Jeff,
I've got a Vitesse stealth maf and chip in my car now. I was tempted to get a stage 2 kit, but I don't have the time/funds to put it in until the spring. I'll probably be shopping for a good deal on a turbo until I finally cave and get one from John.
