I will use it on the track to datalog following any tuning or if there is something else I wish to keep an eye on. Otherwise it unbolts and comes out of the car. Having the laptop in the car for all trackwork would take its toll on the laptop hard disk (faster). There are some 1/4" foam rubber strips between the laptop and the rack but it wount be enough t completely eminate the vibration. At work we take laptops on our aircraft and the handling & vibration does shorten their life.

It really is pretty convenient to have that mounting bracket in the car for dyno tuning and datalogging. I had previously used an MDF (craftwood) setup that used to strap into the passenger seat but since I ditched the passenger seat I had to build this new mounting rack.

I like the interior Oz951. Very simple and purposeful.
I believe that was only an issue for green cars... and yellow cars dont have such issues as floor plates dislodging when using too much nitrous

Yeah it was my concession to pride but I didnt want to overdo the hp thing

Wayne is it possible to have all the info transmit with some wireless setup back to your laptop safely in the pits?

There are remote datalogging systems capable of doing that but they are big bucks. Most, including mine, do not do remote datalogging as it is primarily an ECU. it just has an inherent datalogging capability as most aftermarket ECU's do. Its nice going back to look at AFR vs Boost vs Ignition timing and compare results from the track with results from the dyno.

i'm sure you got your reasons, but why not just use the mouse screen already on the computer? its not like you'll be doing any games while driving where you'll need it! lol

Its a fair enough question.. primarily because operating the software using the touchpad mouse is slow/cumbersome. I save that for when the car is on the track and then when I am back in the garages I plug the regular mouse in to go through the logs and make changes etc.

So is the plan to be able to just go back to the pits and adjust your settings based on the previous laps??
Also Wayne, now that the car is an all out racer, what category are you going to run it in? Have you got your uprated Cams race license yet?
