I've been reviewing the SP3 racing rules, and I see that the DME chip is free, but the KLR chip must remain stock.
Question: has anyone used such a setup? If so, what brand chips and how did it perform?
My guess is, even with the stock boost, there is some room to make the fuel map more effective, and, perhaps, to raise the rev limiter some.

It's done often. The KLR controls boost, the DME takes care of fueling, timing and rev limiter.
To gain power, AFR and Ignition timing can be altered from stock setup. If you are allowed to use race gas, then you can push the ignition for even more power.
