I just bought a set and installed them but they dont seem to be sitting flat in the bucket since the ring doesnt screw all the way down on the top. It also seems to be aiming kinda low but I could be wrong. Is this normal?

 

Both the headlights & the rings need to be rotated into the exact right position to seat properly. Once they're in properly, they should bolt up no problem. Also be careful of the mounting ring not seating evenly, if it's got a 'pressure point' it can crack the lens.
