Default What's a " Mite Vac" (sp)?

The clutch pedal hit the floor yesterday. Soooo....clutch master or slave. I have spares and I'm thinking that I will change everything (master, slave, line etc) in one piece. If that won't work then I will have to do it the hard way, and I'm thinking I read post on here that said that bleeding the line etc is a bitch. Then I remembered reading that a MITE VAC is the solution. So...what's a mite vac and where do you get one and any other advice?

TIA

Lanny

It's a vacuum style fluid bleeder. It's not very good when compared to a power (pressure) bleeder.

Get a power beeder. Motive makes them and I have used my for every track day since 2003. I bleed my brakes every day to keep the pedal firm & just like I want it. The motive hand pump power bleeder is the way to go.

BTW... these power bleeders put pressure in master cylinder resvervior. Then you go around to each corner of the car and open the bleed valve. Very easy and a 1 man job

I have both my dad is old school so he likes the hand pump but it sucks. So i got the power bleeder and now he sleeps with it. lol. You never have to worry about running out of fulid with the power bleedeer. However the clutch was a b*tch. I have to lift the car from the rear inorder for it to bleeed right. I dunno why but it worked. Or you can due the old method of pumping it your self.

I've had the miti vac for several years and it has it's uses. Bleeding brakes or a new clutch system is NOT one of them. It was useless on my new slave/master cylinder/hydraulic line change out. I got a MOTIVE POWER BLEEDER and did the clutch and changed out the brake fluid in about 10 minutes.

Another vote here for the Motive power bleeder. Works great, $50 well spent.

Dont bleed the clutch without one of these things unless you want a hour or two of pushing the pedal back in forth.
